At Thomas Pocklington Trust our work is focused on championing the needs and aspirations of blind and partially sighted people. Our mission is to support blind and partially sighted people to bring about equity and inclusion in society and their own lives. Our Education Team work to improve outcomes for blind and partially sighted students to ensure they can overcome the barriers they face and reach their full potential.
We achieve this through our Student Support Service, providing high quality direct support to students, their families and the professionals supporting them. Our informative webpages providing guidance for both students and the professionals who support them, across their education journey. We recognise the importance of supporting students super-charge their education through our Technology in education resources. Young Voices and Student Voices, Student Stories and Student Transitions events, are pivotal in informing our work.
We influence key decision-makers to improve access to education for blind and partially sighted students with our policy work, most recently our Vision VI Education: Building Blocks for Change.
Lastly, we actively support professionals who work with blind and partially sighted students to improve their knowledge and expertise so they can provide a more effective service.
