Julia Clouter

Global Head of Education, Empowering Tech

Julia works alongside schools, colleges, universities, workplaces, correctional facilities and policy groups to help implement strategies that promote independent literacy skills.

She is an ambassador for Succeed with Dyslexia. This role enables her to share information about neurodiversity SEN, dyslexia, hidden learning needs, and educational technology solutions with a wide audience.

Julia is also the education lead for the Assistive Technology company Scanning Pens.

Julia retired from teaching with twenty-five years of experience in 2019. During her career, she was a Local Authority Advisor, SENCo, SpLD specialist and Designated Safeguarding Lead and a teacher in Alternative Provision, primary, secondary and mainstream schools.

Her published works include learning resources for reading improvement with ReaderPens and The Transition Passport, she is also the co-author of nasen’s AT mini-guide
Julia also designed the Literacy Toolbox Approach which is a recommendation of the dyslexia commission and being widely used across the UK.
