Autism – Anxiety – Absenteeism

This talk wants to consider the challenges facing adults and young people within the education system who are Autistic, either knowingly or unknowingly. Masking and fawning exacerbate issues. Would you know how to recognise these traits? If you are assessing behaviour negatively (e.g. separation anxiety, being loud, struggling in the classroom) the chances are, they will be related to Autism. Anxiety is a big issue for many young people attributing to the numbers recorded by the Social Justice Centre. The demand for compliance and attendance is repeatedly focused on by schools, Ofsted, and the Educational Department, but this could be exacerbating the situation for the individuals affected by poor mental health. If this is directly affecting you in some way, this talk is for you. See you there. Ld
